The Bride$hare idea was born out of personal experience. While
planning my own wedding, I was contacted by a fellow bride, whose
wedding is 2 months after ours at the same venue. She very sweetly explained that she had happened upon my blog, and
loved our design ideas so much that she offered to share most of
the decor and split the cost. I was healthily humbled and flattered
to be approached this way, and saw it as a fortuitous money saving
opportunity: Bride$hare, twice the wedding on half the budget!
The best part? We're not only saving money with this mutually
beneficial arrangement, but we're also getting to reuse or recycle
almost every extraneous purchase that we'd have no use for after
the day. Eco and budget friendly? Somebody pinch me. I've heard
about brides splitting costs of Chiavari chairs or tents over a
weekend, but this is so much more!
I realized that in today's economy, many brides could benefit from
this idea, so I created this network in the hopes of helping you
find your brideshare buddy, save some money, and help save the
earth!
To get started, you can find a buddy by searching through our Members database, or through the Groups or Photos tab. Some of the
best ways to find a buddy are through same city/state, venue, and
month - but you can also search for brides using similar colors and
wedding themes to yours.
Once you find a candidate you feel a match with, add them as a friend, and send a message inviting them to be your buddy! You can display your buddies' names on your profile, or keep a private alliance. The rest is up to you! Don't forget to edit your profile to include all your wedding information, so other brides can locate you, too!
New Brides: You can also use this site help you get started in your planning! Search for local venues and find inspiration for your own event!
