Ok what is the real opinion on a wedding in a backyard? My fiance and I are not rich, my side of the family isnt rich either so its just me and him footing the bill. His brother has a nice house on the lake thats got about an acre of land and a nice view. I was totally go for it til one of my friends started talking about an engagement party they were going to. She stated," Its at their mothers house, so white trash!". I kinda just clammed up, We really would like to have a nice wedding and the venues here in Orlando are so expensive. Obviously wed be able to go with whatever decorations and food we wanted to from the savings. I just want to know what the real truthful and HONEST perception of a backyard wedding really is.

I agree that backyard weddings can be classy without being trashy. I think your marriage and financial stability is more important then the perceptions of other people. You can do something tasteful and unique that will also give you peace of mind on your wedding day that you will still have stable finance to begin your marriage...which is so much more important than a high priced venue.

I say go for it! My fiance and I were trying to find a pretty place for a backyard wedding (same deal, were paying for everything and its tight!) but our options werent great. I think outdoor weddings are beautiful and anything on the lake would be great! when is your date?
